The highest parts of the castle. Students hate the long walk up here but are often forced to come up her because they need to send a letter or go to a class. Being the top floor under the towers, the seventh floor is always full of students milling around trying to escape classes for that day. Few students know about a special room found on this floor that can change itself into what ever you want, but even fewer know where it is and how to use it.

The sixth floor is probably one of the most deserted floors in the school. The only class on this floor is Transfiguration and the rest of the floor is full of empty classrooms or locked rooms that not even the teachers can get into.

Like the rest of the floors the fifth floor is full of secret passageways, trick steps, and trap doors. In one corridor on this floor is the statue of Boris the Bewildered, who (to the dissappointment of the students) doesn't cover any secret trapdoors...or perhaps they haven't been founf yet.

Leading up a marble staircase from the ground floor is the first floor. Due to the height of certain rooms on the ground floor (i.e. Great Hall) they extend up into the first floor leaving some parts of it unusable.

The coldest and darkest parts of the castle. The Dungeons are known for being horribly cold even on the warmest summer day, water drips slowly down the wall and rumor has it that the Dungeons are directly under the lake and only spells and enchantments are keeping the walls from caving in.

A row of greenhouses fills up the south area of the grounds at Hogwarts and they are filled with various magical plant life. Students learn Herbology here in one of the greenhouses and are always welcome to come here outside of lessons to earn extra credit or to help feed the plants.

Located to the south of the castle is a large body of water and is about half a mile in diameter. The lake is home to the famous Giant Squid, grindylows, and a colony of Merpeople. Apart from a few weeks in summer the lake is usually rather cold.

The quiddich pitch is a large oval pitch with three white goal hoops on either end. It is surrounded by stands where the students sit to watch the match with sixteen towers around it were distinguished guest can watch the match. At either end of the pitches are small doors that lead off to the teams dressing and shower rooms.

The Forbidden Forest, also known as The Dark Forest borders the edges of the Hogwarts. It is strictly off limits to students except in the case of detention, or Care of Magical Creatures lessons. A variety of magical creatures live within the forest; some good some bad but as one can never truly tell what creature will kill you or leave you be it really is best if you stay out.

This pub is shabbily decorated, it usually attracts the strangest of creatures and it isn’t unusual for a vampire to be seen lurking in the darker corners of the pub. The glasses aren’t clean but they do serve very good butter beers and you never know you might be lucky enough to get served a fire whiskey.

The Leaky Cauldron to Knockturn Alley. The Black Widow is a small pub located in the furthest part of Knocturn Alley and is run by a witch who many have described as mad. The pub has very little lighting and has a back room which can be used for private meetings.

The Department of Magical Accidents and Catastrophes is responsible for repairing accidental magical damage. Offices include the Accidental Magic Reversal Squad, the Obliviator Headquarters, the Muggle-Worthy Excuse Committee, the Invisibility Task Force and the Muggle Liaison Office.

The Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures is the second largest department in the Ministry. It is divided into three divisions named after the three categorisations of magical creatures: Being, Beast and Spirit. The Atrium is the area which welcomes witches and wizards into the Ministry. In the middle of the corridor is a large statue and the corridor is full of fireplaces which allow people to arrive and leave using Floo Powder. On this floor are many lifts which can take a person to the various other departments found within the Ministry. Offices include the Lobby and Reception Area, the Security Desk and the Magical Maintenance Office.

The Department of Mysteries is a section of the Ministry of Magic that carries out confidential research and what happens here and what is located in here is a mystery even to those that work in the Ministry. Those wizards who work in the Department of Mysteries are known as Unspeakables because of the confidential nature of their work and are rarely seen or heard talking to others. Chambers include the Hall of Prophecies, the Death Chamber, the Thought Chamber, the Time Chamber, the Space Chamber, the Ever-Locked Room and the Veil.
