The Revolution Has Begun
"There's no need to call me sir Professor."
FULL NAME: Astrid Lisette McCrae NICKNAMES: None? AGE: Fifteen BIRTHDAY: December 6 SEXUALIY: Straight BLOODLINE: Muggle-born HOUSE: Hufflepuff YEAR: Fifth year JOB: Hogwarts Student SIDE:Hogwarts/ Order of the Phoenix SPECIES/SPECIAL ABILITIES: human, muggle-born witch. CANON: Nope.
"You don't know what I'm capable of, you don't know what I've done!"
GENERAL APPEARANCE: Astrid stands at about five foot five with a slender almost athletic body. This girl isn’t big and hardly looks tough but she’s definitely not one to mess with. She has what you might call a dancer’s body, muscles in all the right place. Her long, corn silk colored hair hangs down to the middle of her back in waves. It is customary to see her with her hair just hanging down but she does like to change it up at times. Her hair explains how Astrid is feeling. If she pulls it up in a ponytail she's frustrated; if it's half pulled up it means she is having an "I don't care" sorta day. A lot can be said about this girl and her hair. Warm, chocolate brown eyes seen through thick eyelashes seem to accent her face giving her this soft almost angelic look. A splatter of freckles on her nose seems to accent just right on her porcelain colored skin.
If there is one unique thing about Astrid it would have to be her clothing style. It has to be somewhat on the eccentric side, her own type of clothing to show off her free side. Mostly her clothing consists of jeans matched with a very cute top or band shirt. Jewelry is a must in her book, if she’s not seen without her bracelets and necklaces then she is having a severely off day. Bright colors and flowy outfits are what make her day. I wouldn’t necessarily call her a girly girl, she just likes to have freedom to wear whatever she feels like underneath her robes or when she has the opportunity to dress down. Astrid's most comfortable in one of her flowy dresses matched with leggings and her flats. Something about the breezy feeling around her seems to calm her. For most of her life her parents were the type that wouldn't let her wear pants so dresses were the only thing she was accustom to. MOST LIKED FEATURE: Her eyes MOST HATED FEATURE: her nose, she feels it's too big. HERITAGE: English ETHNICITY: Caucasian
"The mind is not a book, to be opened at will and examined at leisure."
GENERAL PERSONALITY: Yes, Astrid's had my heartaches in her life, but doesn’t everyone? That doesn’t mean she's going to be this damaged girl that will break if you talk or touch her. She's “one tough cookie” as my dad used to call her. Being a muggle born she knows she has to be tough, atleast to the people that try to ridicule her on a daily basis. Astrid hates the fact that her lineage has to determine whether some of the kids in school will be friends her. The politics are something she doesn't particularly like to get involved in. She's not a bad person; atleast she likes to think so. Her friends like to say that she's too honest for my own good, but really she just don’t like to be pushed around. She's not loud about it, resorting to quiet, stealthy means. If Astrid gets shoved she's going to shove back, there's no room to talk in between. That's why she doesn't stand back and take being tormented lightly.
Honesty is one of her strong suits and something that she holds dear to her heart. If someone is honest and trustworthy to her she will reciprocate it. This is just the type of girl that she is. There were far too many secrets in Astrid's family for her to even pretend to like them. Perhaps that's why she always tends to be honest with everyone around her, almost to the point of being blunt. She's never rude about it, atleast she tries not to be, but she doesn't have that "courtesy filter" that some other people have. It has had the potential to get her into a few detentions, but that's beside the point. Astrid likes to try to be friends with everyone, perhaps it's her naive side. Unless someone gives her a reason not to like them she will most definitely try to befriend them. Sure, that might get her in trouble sometimes but she likes to think she can take care of herself.
Astrid's family has always said that she was the sweetest person they’d ever met, that she would put others before myself. That is exactly who this girl is. Being a witch has never changed who she is as a person, it just made her stronger. Politeness is something that has been programed into her brain since she was a young girl. Her mother used to say that it was to show others respect. But to her it is to show everyone that she's not just a piece of trash “muggleborn” but a sophisticated individual who would like the same respect in turn. Just because Astrid is sweet doesn’t mean she don’t like to have fun. If you get to know her you'll learn that she's actually pretty carefree and laidback, you might even call her “a riot”. Sometimes she likes to let her hair down and just have a good time. Astrid surrounds herself with decent friends because she enjoys their company and feels like a better person with them. If you try to hurt one of her friends though, you best expect that she’ll try to defend them. Working hard in her studies, she's pretty good at all my classes. She might not look big but she can certainly fight if the right situation presents its self.
Astrid has never been one to open up to people, especially when it pertains to family life. The few people that she ever trusted enough with it have had that pity face. You know it, the one where they look at you like you’re a wounded puppy. Astrid has survived and moved on from her ordeals and it has made her a better witch. If there is one thing this girl can't stand it is being pitied on. So now she's just more guarded about her life, with a refusal to open up to any random stranger. You have to do something great to gain Astrid's trust enough to get her to actually open up. If you’re one of those lucky ones that gain that trust, then she'll be loyal to you until the end.
HOBBIES: – photography - drawing - reading - having fun - singing (but never in front of people) DISLIKES: – Divination: She’s horrible at it. - people who bully muggle-borns or halfbloods. - snakes - the taste of pumpkin juice - stuck up snobs - people who can’t see the good in life - strawberries: She’s allergic to them - being compared to her mother - flying: she’s absolutely terrified of it. - obnoxious people - History of Magic: The most boring class ever! LIKES: – having fun - being a witch - magic - friends who care about her - licorice wands - the color yellow - charms: Her favorite and best class - Defense against the Dark Arts - her black cat named Binks - drawing whatever she wants - taking pictures of the beauty around her
FEARS: – turning out like her mother. - being alone - death - being judged for being a muggle-born - not finding someone who loves her for her SECRETS: – finds ways to cope with her hidden depression over her mother’s death. Normally writing in a journal she keeps with drawings and thoughts but sometimes she's prone to wild out-of-character behavior. - one day hopes she can find a spell or potion to bring her mother back from the dead. - blames herself for her mother's death.
"I enjoyed the meetings, too. It was like having friends."
GENERAL HISTORY: The beginning of young Astrid Lisette McCrae is just like the fairy tales. She had a mother and father who loved her very much and were just happy to finally have their own little family. There was nothing their rosy cheeked little girl couldn’t have and they raised her to be a well rounded individual. Life seemed pretty perfect for the happy family, but once upon a time can only last for so long. Astrid was about nine years old when strange things started happening. When she got some form of a strong emotion something bad would happen. Sometimes it was in form of changing the color of their family dog Charlie. Others it was more drastic, like when she would accidentally levitate her favorite stuff teddy bear Moe. Both of her parents pretended like it didn’t happen, that there was nothing wrong with their child. Her father just never spoke of it, not even to his wife, but Beth McCrae thought she was going insane. The more things happened the more she would feel herself falling into a deeper hole of craziness. Neither one of them knew that it was in fact a reality, that their daughter was showing abilities that she would soon be a witch.
It was a brisk day when the unthinkable happened, something that to this day no one could’ve foreseen. Astrid had gotten out of school and went home jus t like normal. Her father was at work so that just left her mother at home to take care of the house. Something wasn’t right though, Astrid could tell that as soon as she walked into the house. The normal greetings she would get as she walked in the door were nonexistent. The TV in the living room wasn’t on, there was no snack sitting on the kitchen table and upon inspection her mother was still in bed. She had thought perhaps her mom was just sick, she wanted to show her the A she got on her spelling test. As her small hand touched her mother in an attempt to wake her she realized that it was very wrong, that her mother was as cold as ice. The next couple days are like a blur for her, a blackout that she refuses to ever go through. She was far too young to have to deal with something so traumatizing. Her father has never looked back at her the same way after that. Perhaps he blames his child for his wife’s death, or maybe he just doesn’t like how similar she looks to her. Either way they would have the minimal conversations until all their questions were answered.
When her owl finally came Astrid was soo happy! It explained so much about what had happened to her and reminded her that she wasn’t completely insane. Even her dad seemed to lighten up just a hair, helping her get all her supplies for school and prepare for the school year. It was hard at first, being away from everything she was accustom to since birth but all that changed when she was sorted into her house, Hufflepuff. This was her real family, the home she never thought she’d ever have. Hogwarts was exactly what she needed in life and sometimes she felt she had to pinch herself to remind herself it was real. Astrid was learning actual magic and she was really good at it! As the years have passed she’s made quite a few friends and she’s always up to making more. They are what make all the homework and exams bearable. Most of her time not spent with her nose buried in her class work she likes to hang out with them and even catch a Quidditch match or something. Truthfully she's terrified of actually being on a broomstick but she loves to watch the game whenever she can. Hogwarts is her home, has been for the last five years, but she finally feels complete. With twists and turns around every corner, what's not to love?

ROLEPLAY SAMPLE: It had only been a few days since the fight with Venus and already Allegra was going stir crazy. Being cooped up in the bed in the hospital wing was something she didn’t put on her list of things to do. Since she was little she never could sit still and having to do so now was pure torture. Yaxley definitely knew how to find a way to torture Als, that was for certain. Stretching cautiously in the bed she reaches over and grabs her history homework. If there was one good thing about this it was she was able to get completely caught up on her homework. Sure she had the occasional visitor after classes but in that in between time the only thing she had to pass the time was this. Scribbling a few words down on her piece of parchment before her she grumbles, crumpling the paper up and tossing it across the room.
Rick was there all the time, talking with her and just being the friend that she knew he was. He was the one thing that was keeping her from going completely stir crazy in the little cramped hospital wing. Sure, it wasn’t exactly small but being stuck there it felt like the walls were caving in on her. Most of the time she thought about how close she had gotten with this little…mishap. To think that she could have such a dark spell cast on her, it was rather unimaginable. She had hardly provoked the girl, honestly she hadn’t even provoked at all but it was enough to cause such a catastrophe. Just the thought that the girl had gotten the upper hand on Allegra was enough to set her on edge. Her she was just trying to play nice with everyone and the next thing she’s bleeding to death all over the floor.
Allegra sets her blonde head back against the pillow she turns her head to look outside. It was a gloomy day, just like how she felt inside. It gotten so lonely and she hated to feel like this, like she was in a whole other world. What she wouldn’t give to have just a little ray of sunshine; particularly in the form of her best friend. She didn’t know what wouldn’t happened if Rick wasn’t there to help her when she needed him most. Sometimes she replayed the entire ordeal in her head, well what she could remember, and she knew that he never left her side. That was what a true friend was, and she was more then happy to trust him. Deciding that she had no mentality to do her homework she tosses the book aside on the bed. Screw bed rest, she couldn’t just sit back and not get up. Very slowly she sits up and pulls herself off the bed. Standing there she holds her side, feeling her newly closed skin stretch. Wincing at the fact she was actually standing; she walks across the room to the window, looking out it onto the students that littered the lawn. What she wouldn’t give to be one of those, perhaps they wouldn’t notice her gone from her bed if she went out, just for a little bit.
Grinning to herself she shuffles back over to her bed, grabbing her sweater and shoving her feet into her slippers she starts for the door. Pleading that perhaps the nurse would be off somewhere else so that she could break out without being seen. That of course wasn’t the case as she sees someone coming up to the main doors of the hospital wing. Cursing under her breath she prays that they’ll keep walking, not coming in there at all. Nope, the cards were not in her favor as the door slowly opens.
"Reading between the lines, I’d say she thinks you’re a bit conceited, mate."

Pending ! please insert corrections that need to be made good luck! To Improve:
- Can you flesh out the appearance a tad? How does she have her hair? What is she comfortable in etc
- You say she lost her virginity but the age to legally have sex is 16 and drinking is 18; although this is a roleplay site and set slightly in the past it would still be unacceptable for someone of her age to have sex; it would be a lot better if she lost it at the legal age.
- The above of course is debatable if you put a valid reason why she goes against society and has sex at such an early age. You mention her loss of virginity in her secrets but not in her history. Her history pretty much stops after she gets her Hogwarts letter and it would be interesting to see whats happened to her including how she lost her virginity
- Can you put her personality into third person please
- Please check your grammar, at times its a little confusing
Admin Note: Overall a great application it just needs a bit of fleshing out [btw love the picture in your sig] - ADMINS -
