The Revolution Has Begun
"There's no need to call me sir Professor."
FULL NAME: Daphne Elizabeth Greengrass NICKNAMES: Daph AGE: 15 BIRTHDAY: 30th July SEXUALITY: Heterosexual BLOODLINE: Pureblood HOUSE: Slytherin YEAR: 5th JOB: Student SIDE: Death Eater SPECIES/SPECIAL ABILITIES: N/A CANON: Yes
"You don't know what I'm capable of, you don't know what I've done!"
GENERAL APPEARANCE: Daphne stands at five foot six, whenever she bothers to stand up straight (apparently, her mother doesn’t think she does that enough). Usually, heels are involved in her outfit, making her taller than she really is, and making her feet hurt more than they should, but if that’s the price she has to pay for easily being able to intimidate people, she’ll do it. Her skin is pretty pale, and she actively tries not to tan in the summer, because she’s afraid of getting freckles or sunburn. And tan lines. Plus, the contrast between her alabaster skin and dark brown hair makes her look more imposing than she really is. All it is is image, smoke and mirrors, but she uses it all to her benefit.
Whilst she isn’t the slimmest girl around, she certainly isn’t heavy-set either. She’s a regular weight, and she’s one of those girls that just eats when she feels like it, fuelling the rumours that she is, in fact, bulimic, and the more she eats, the more likely it is that Moaning Myrtle will have a companion for a while. Underneath her robes (which, by the way, bear a Slytherin crest that she’s pretty proud of), her clothes are typically more dressy than they have to be, adding to the illusion that she’ll bite your head off or ruin your life if you do anything negative to her or her friends.
Daphne’s eyes are her weakest point. They show what she is feeling more than she would like, and constantly has to cast a Glamour shield over them to make sure people don’t think she’s a soft touch and that they can get away with things on her watch. They are a soft brown, but occasionally they will change colours for a costume, or just for shock factor. Charms has always been her best subject.
MOST LIKED FEATURE: Her hands – it’s odd, but they’re what she sees most of herself every day, and she likes the way they look and move; she’s graceful and fluid pretty much all the time MOST HATED FEATURE: Her hair – it’s so boring and dull, all one colour, just a regular cut, but she just doesn’t know what to do with it, so she disguises it with Glamour charms and elaborate hair do’s HERITAGE: English ETHNICITY: Caucasian
"The mind is not a book, to be opened at will and examined at leisure."
GENERAL PERSONALITY: If allowed to be herself, Daphne is a very different person to the one that most people see. Around her 'friends' (who are, quite rightly, all Slytherin and Pureblood), Daphne is the leader. She tells people what to do, and expects it done immediately. People rarely challenge her, and those that do feel the wrath of her icy and acerbic wit, and her sharp, sarcastic tongue. With them, she shops, gossips, and plays mean jokes on people that have insulted or wronged her. Alone, she would not be suited to Slytherin. She is quiet, studious and creative, and she likes to sew, knit, draw, write and read. Shame that side of her doesn’t get out much.
She isn’t much like any of her family, but she tries to be. She doesn’t like being the odd one out, the black sheep, but she is. She hides it by feigning interest in her mother’s hobbies and her sister’s ‘accomplishments’, but really she just feels like she can’t be herself around her family. Especially because she’s a huge daddy’s girl and she doesn’t want to disappoint him. Standing out just isn’t what she’s all about, and yet she spends her life doing it because the Greengrasses that went before her did it, and she doesn’t want to be singled out.
To the people she likes and considers friends, she is loyal, caring, and fiercely protective. To those she dislikes, she is cruel, manipulative and just a little bit twisted. The only thing she seems to have taken from her parents is her sordid sense of humour and her overly excitable imagination. To Slytherins in general, she is charming, sociable and keen to learn more about them. Too bad she doesn’t really want to date any of them. They’re all just too obnoxious.
HOBBIES: Quidditch, shopping, singing, craftwork DISLIKES: excessive arrogance, libraries, dust, late nights, Muggle contraptions, too much noise, silence LIKES: flying, Herbology, Charms, pleasing her father, surprising people, music, art, crafts FEARS: being alone, people hating her, bats SECRETS: she dislikes being bitchy, but has to do it to keep her image, and she’s a little bit scared of her sister
"I enjoyed the meetings, too. It was like having friends."
GENERAL HISTORY: Daphne is the eldest child of Harper and Bethany Greengrass. Daphne was two when Astoria was born, and has tormented her and systematically tried to ruin her life every step of the way, in any way at all possible. There have been embarrassments, humiliations, pranks, tricks, hexes, jinxes and insults. Most people assume that this is because Daphne wanted to remain the oldest child. It's really only because Daphne doesn't want her parents to realise how different she is to the rest of the family, and sometimes she play acts just a little too much, and goes far enough that her parents tell her to stop.
Daphne has always lived in Astoria’s shadow, despite being older than her, and that’s something she’s grown used to. At home, Astoria is the pretty one, the talented one, and the one that gets everything she wants, from anyone she wants. It doesn't even look like she's trying to do it, but Daphne still hates Astoria for it. It must show, because although Daphne is almost identical in personality to her sister, her parents do not enthuse over her as they do her sister. They assume that she will grow into their mindset, and are not yet worried about her. Worst comes to worst, they believe they can force her to be as they want her.
Daphne's first magical act was performed when she was five years old. She was furious at Astoria for breaking one of her dolls (even though Astoria claimed it was an accident) so Daphne grabbed her mother's wand off the table and sent a tornado through her younger sister's room.
At Hogwarts, the professors, as the majority of them had been there for decades, had preconceptions of what Daphne was going to be like. In class, she tried hard throughout her first two years to prove them wrong. She had no family looking over her, and she could act as she pleased. Her family was renowned for starting duels and being cruel to other houses. She more than made up for it all, though, by getting consistently good grades that she worked hard for, all the while managing to maintain the bitchy image that seemed to be a prerequisite for a Greengrass. And she had more 'friends' (not that she'd ever call them that given the choice) than she'd ever had before.
When Astoria started at Hogwarts, Daphne and Astoria engaged in a constant battle for dominance. Daphne is determined to win.

ROLEPLAY SAMPLE: Mornings were never going to be on Cam's list of favourites. Hell, she despised the things, and, to be quite honest, her opinion was that if she couldn't sleep through them, they should just go die. Seriously, like, not exist at all. From night, straight to afternoon. No stupid sunrises or twittering birds, or people mowing their lawns at insane times in the morning. Oh, and alarm clocks shouldn't exist, period. They were evil and unnecessary, and more times than not, they scared the shit out of her because when she was asleep, she thought it was earlier than it really was. Oh, the curses of the nocturnal student. Mind you, though, pretty much every student was nocturnal. They stayed up 36 hours at a time, and then crashed at the most inconvenient of times - on the bus, in class, an hour before the deadline. Being a student was tough, but you'd be hard pressed to find someone that would admit it. At least she didn't have to live off ramen noodles and coffee. In fact, she could live on caviar (if it weren't so disgusting) and champagne if she wanted to, and hardly make a dent in the fortune her parents and the ancestors before them had made. Not that she would, obviously. She was weirdly frugal, for the most part, considering that her parents and older siblings seemed intent on frittering away as much money as they could whilst they were alive.
She lived in a four bedroom house, which she had rented for an extremely modest price from a man who was leaving the country but didn't want to sell his house. She didn't ask questions, and neither did he. They agreed on a sum, and she didn't hesitate when he asked her to wire the money to an offshore account. She had done it herself countless times, and if he ever did anything, it would be amazingly easy to track him through his account number. If she could be bothered. The house was too large for her, but anything smaller would have caused an attack of claustrophobia. After living in a 100 room mansion for twenty-odd years, even this house felt tiny, but she could live in it without having panic attacks, which was the main thing. When Jason came to live with her, the house got smaller still, but it wasn't that bad, as the two of them were both constantly coming and going, oftentimes crossing each other at the front door with nothing but a grin and a short explanation that tended to comprise of one or two words. Swimming. Basketball. Clubs. You know, that sort of thing. Well, not really the last one - they typically went out at the same time, although they didn't always stay together.
Shaking her head and trying not to shiver, Cam picked up the clothes she had chosen the previous night, then shook her head and threw them on the floor. She didn't want to wear those. She was going to have to start from scratch. A pair of black skinny jeans caught her eye, and she shrugged as she slipped them on. It was really too cold for skirts and shorts, and anyway, Cam was more comfortable in jeans. It wasn't that she was trying to hide.... It was just warm. Worming her way into her jeans, she smiled at her reflection. Why was it necessary to dance to get your clothes to fit right? Grabbing one of her typical combinations, a white strappy tee and a ripped long sleeved black top with a long forgotten band on the front, Cam tried to ignore the fact that it was morning and she could hear no fewer than three lawn mowers. Jesus, did these people ever go to work?!
Dressed, she was ready to accessorise. This was the part that generally took the longest, but Cam wasn't in the mood. She grabbed anything purple or silver and slipped them on. She ended up with a chunky purple bangle, about twenty thin filigree bands, and a couple of amethyst studded bracelets on her wrists. On her fingers, she settled for one diamond ring, and one large amethyst. Her neck, she kept free, but only because the wind had a bad habit of whipping the pendants off the chain without her noticing.
"Reading between the lines, I’d say she thinks you’re a bit conceited, mate."

Pending ! please insert corrections that need to be made good luck! To Improve:
Heya i’m sorry it took so long to get around to! I’ve been busy trying to sort this new skin out! Anyway onto the important stuff.
I like your application I think there needs to be a few small changes, though.
- I feel the history of your character dictates too much what Astoria should be like, and as we do not have an Astoria yet I think we should try to leave it a bit open if the role player decides they would like to play her slightly different. Perhaps you could write it so that its more how Daphne perceives Astoria to be, for how their parents treat her etc. And perhaps try to leave the other parts a bit more open.
- You’ve written that one of her fears is shes scared of her older sister, Im sure Daphne is the oldest child in the family.
Admin Note: Apart from that the rest is good, just afew minor changes! Let me know if you have any questions!
