The Revolution Has Begun
"There's no need to call me sir Professor."
FULL NAME: April Lilly Potter NICKNAMES: Potter, Lil, Ap AGE: Fourteen BIRTHDAY: December 19, 1981 SEXUALIY: Heterosexual BLOODLINE: Half-Blood HOUSE: Ravenclaw YEAR: Fourth JOB: SIDE: Order SPECIES/SPECIAL ABILITIES: Patrons: Dove CANON: Yes
"You don't know what I'm capable of, you don't know what I've done!"
GENERAL APPEARANCE: April’s hair is dark red. Usually it is wavy and ends just under her shoulders. When she is having a pretty bad hair day, which seems to happen quite alot now, April pins it back to hide away the messy look about it. Inheriting it from her mother, April is very thankful for it being red, and not black like her father and brother. Normally worn out, or in pigtails, to enchant the waves. Her eye colour is deep Emerald Green, just like her mother. April’s emotions are always shown in her eyes, whether she likes it or not. Someone had once pointed out that eyes were the gateway to the soul, so April wasn’t quite pleased to hear that. Sometimes, if one looks closely, there are traces of black hidden within her eyes, something she inherits from an unknown source.
Being only a small little thing, April is still quite a bit shorter than her brother, who is at least a head taller than herself. She doesn’t expect to grow that much either, which makes her a little sad. With most of her family being an average height, she does feel a bit left out in family photos, having to stand on a table to look a bit taller. April has a few freckles across her cheeks and nose, which have slightly faded with time, but are more noticeable across the length of her arms. Her oval face hides the scowl that comes across her little face when someone has got her mad. Sadly, she doesn’t get her mother’s lips; April inherits a less shaped lip, which she has bitten too many times to count for.
Outside of Hogwarts, April is just like any other teenage girl. Clothing wise, April wears a pair of jeans and a shirt, or a knee high dress, depends on the weather and who she is with. Secretly, she digs the whole medieval/Victorian dress style, but wouldn’t ever admit to anyone, let alone dress like that. Inside of school, April wears the usual Hogwarts uniform, picking out the stocking over the tights, since she doesn’t really like the feel of tights much. Her little trinket is a silver bracelet that a mysterious man had given her when she was little. Upon being asked about it, April just said she had found it, with the little dove, stag, doe, and snake charms.
MOST LIKED FEATURE: Emerald green eyes: Everyone knows who’s daughter she is by an instant glance.
MOST HATED FEATURE: Facial Expressions: Sadly, her emotions are always seen, which drives her crazy when she’s trying to hide her feelings from everyone. Scowl: April has a trade mark scowl, one that she hates with a passion. Along with her dead giveaway emotions, the scowl just makes her look like a spoilt child.
HERITAGE: English ETHNICITY: Caucasian
"The mind is not a book, to be opened at will and examined at leisure."
GENERAL PERSONALITY: Being placed into Ravenclaw was a slight surprise to April, who had assumed that she would be in Gryffindor like her family. It goes without saying, that instead of being brave and determined, April was more witty and intelligent. Sometimes, April gets a bit upset when her family talks about Gryffindor, and how much fun the house is, because for once she’s excluded from the circle, and it hurts every now and then.
~Intellectualism: April is one of the top students in her grade, but is extremely critical of herself, and nothing she ever does can quite fit to her own standard of perfection. She is not only bright, but she works like crazy to maintain her extraordinarily high grade point average. (Yep, a perfectionist) Every honour or award is preceded by hours of hard work and effort. She knows grades impress her family, so she tries to keep them up as high as she can; she wants to be mommy's perfect little girl, after all.
~Witty: To keep everyone happy, April uses her wit to judge the situation and to pick the relevant comment to make. Fluent in Sarcasm and Charming her fellow listener, April always puts in subtle jokes inside her conversations to hinder the listener into a safety web. April tends to use this wit to belittle people who aren’t being very nice to people around her, who can’t really defend themselves. So for April this trait is a positive and a negative.
~Empathy: April had once walked past a homeless child, who was had just been beaten for eating scraps out of a bin, when she was suddenly compelled to help this poor child in pain. Ever since, April hasn’t been able to walk past someone in any form of suffering without feeling like her own heart is breaking. A true empath is someone who can’t stand the sight of anyone suffering, and will do anything to help the person. April gets rather overwhelmed when something horrible is shown to her, in the papers or in real life, because she always feels for that person. Sadly, it doesn’t matter who it is, April will always feel sorry for them, and will try and help.
~Blunt: Also called “Embarrassing Honest.” April grew up believing that everyone had the right to know the truth, because living a lie is far worse than being hurt by the truth. So when she is blunt, April believes she is helping the person by giving them a taste of the truth. It’s not because she wants to be horrid and mean, that’s the last thing she would do. April doesn’t see this trait as a bad thing, because in her mind, it’s just being honest. And doesn’t the truth set you free?
~Critical Analyser: Sometimes, if she stares off into space for an unknown reason, April’s mind is analysing the situation at hand. It is unknown to most why she does this, but it gives the teenager a different look on what’s going on around her. A good example of this, is when April thinks about failing a test, and then her mind plays out the whole thing in her head, while she keeps up a conversation with a friend. She over analyses everything, which is something she has no true control over.
~Low Tolerance: Sadly, once you get on April’s nerves, you’re there forever. April has a very low tolerance of people who are prejudice towards her and her family. Being a Potter, April hasn’t truly adapted to the fact a certain house will always hate her family because of something her brother did in his first year. Its not really her fault she gets a bit emotional when people throw out horrid names at her, its just something she has to grow out of, before something bad happens. Family has to stick together, no matter what. HOBBIES: ~Reading and Investigating ~Doing stuff to help fellow students. April is sometimes seen tutoring younger kids in her free time ~Collecting objects that have a significant meaning to her.
DISLIKES: ~Liars ~Not being one of the top ten in class ~Hypocrites ~Womanisers ~People who use physical violence to make a point ~Horrible People (Slytherins included) ~Anyone who says anything bad about her family ~Idiots who think they have power over her.
LIKES: ~Flowers, and anything that comes from nature ~Books about something she knows next to nothing about ~Outsmarting a bully ~Her family ~Achievement when she is successful at something ~Proving a point in her favour ~Helping others ~Feminists
FEARS: ~Failure to her school and family ~Anything bad happening to her family ~Being helpless ~Memory Loss ~Feels hollow, as if she’s missing someone that she doesn’t know
"I enjoyed the meetings, too. It was like having friends."
GENERAL HISTORY: April Lily Potter was the second born child to Lily and James Potter. She was born at the last hour of the night, while the snow fell heavily outside the window. April was born a healthy child, a little underweight and just a tad bit needier than Harry ever was. At the time James was working with the Order, when Lily had given birth to April’s twin brother Ethan. The twins were placed beside each other for a moment, one with red hair, the other with black hair, and April’s hand reached over to her twin, and sort of caught his hand in her own. That would be the last time April would ever see him as her twin, that connection between the two faded as he was taken away, and into the night.
There is little memory of April’s first year of life; she does recall her parents talk about evacuating their house because someone horrid wanted to hurt them. To this day, April refuses to hear about that time, because she doesn’t want to know what could have happened if her parents weren’t ready. It was a scary thought, one that April’s mind had pondered over for a very long time. She knows very few details about it, it was he-who-must-not-be-named, Dumbledore and Sirius Black had been there with her family to protect them. What April fails to want to know, is why they picked on her family, why not some other wizard family. Countless times she had asked, all in vain since they always change the topic when she mentions that one night.
Childhood had passed quickly for April, with her older brother taking the role of leader. She can still remember the games they use to play, how he would always use simple spells in front of her, to make the games more fun. April did feel a bit sorry for their cat, poor thing turned out to be rainbow by the end of its first year at the Potters. She was fond of Harry, being the youngest, April had to look up to someone as she grew older, and he seemed to be the perfect role model for her. As she grew older, April started to feel a hollow gap in her heart, as if something was missing from her world. It was like half of her was missing, and it made her sad sometimes.
Harry got his letter from Hogwarts not long before his eleventh birthday, which brought huge joy to April who was eager to know all about Hogwarts and what it was like. April was sad to see her brother go, since she would be all alone for that whole school semester while her parents went off to work, but was glad to see he would be enjoying himself. A few weeks after school started, April was informed that Harry had followed in his parent’s footsteps by being placed into Gryffindor. She was proud of her brother, and waited for the letters he would write about school, the work, and the friends he had made.
It was all too soon that April received her own letter to attend Hogwarts alongside her brother. It was filled with a mixture of pure excitement and sadness. She would leave her parents alone for the first time ever, which made her sad. But then she was going to school, to learn all about magic! Nothing could top her joy at the thought of learning something new. April had bugged Harry for all information about Hogwarts, anything and everything, but he grew tired of her questions pretty quickly. Really couldn’t blame him, April had gone a bit over the top when it came to learning about new things. She remembers her parents talk about how she should behave, what not to do, and who not to talk to. April nodded happily at this load of information and had set off to get all of her school supplies.
The Sorting Ceremony was where April had first met Luna Lovegood, who was the same age as herself. The girl was a bit strange to say the least, but April didn’t really mind her, she was a pretty bright person after all. Then she saw another kid in her year, as they all waited to be sorted, a boy with raven coloured hair. Lily was curious about this boy, something seemed different about him, but she didn’t have alot of time to ponder before she was called up on the stage. There was a hushed silence, as she approached the hat, low murmurs rose from various houses once she was seated and the hat placed on her head.
As she waited for the Sorting Hat to pick her house, April gazed across the tables, and finally saw her brother sitting at the Gryffindor table. It was if it had suddenly trigged something, because the Sorting Hat suddenly spoke in her head, Another Potter? I bet you wish you were in Gryffindor don’t you? April nodded her head slightly, a small smile on her face. She couldn’t imagine being anywhere else, except for Gryffindor. It spoke again, pointing out all her traits and talents, which had nothing to do with Gryffindor. April’s heart hit rock bottom the moment the Sorting Hat yelled out Ravenclaw. She was the first Potter to be a Ravenclaw... how could she have disappointed her parents in such a way?
April remembers being placed at the Ravenclaw table alongside Luna, who was quite happy about the whole sorting. A few other names had been called, before she finally saw the boy take the stage. April leant forward, catching the name Ethan Snape, and curiosity filled her. What house would he be? Disappointment echoed when Slytherin was called, and she sunk in her seat, nibbling a little at the feast food. April purist her lips, nibbling them a little, realising that her brother Harry was in another house to her, that she was going to be alone in Ravenclaw. She was suddenly saddned by this information, but kept her face up.
Three years passed in a breeze, as April finally worked around friends, school work and home. With help from her brother, April finally started to understand how to manage the homework without losing out on social activities. Now sitting in fourth year, April has finally realised that Harry is starting its O.W.L.S, while she can sit back and help from the sidelines, pointing out a few helpful revision tips every now and then.

ROLEPLAY SAMPLE:
If a dare was to ruin the little social status that April had, this was the one. She knew this only moments after being handed a dress and a veil, and pushed into the girls changing room. She took one look at the dress and pulled a face; white wasn’t her colour, having pale skin wasn’t a great thing when people gave you stuff that went with the paleness of her skin. It just looked weird, especially on a red head such as herself. April had complained about it, saying that it was the one thing that would ruin her, but they would have none of it. For this half Blood, this dare was going to take it’s toll on her.
April picked up the bouquet of white Lilly's and pulled another annoyed face, this had been a added punishment because she had complained about the dare in the first place, causing the stupid flowers to be apart of the show. Giving up on compiling, she let on of the girls place the veil on her head, and ajust it so it was right where it was suppose to be. If it wasn’t for the fact that this was a dare, and the whole school could see her in this, she would have enjoyed herself more in the dress. A wedding dress was fun to be in, but with a whole school having a chance at seeing you in one, really wasn’t fun.
Giving her friends a wave, she exited the common room, with laughter following behind her, as some chose to watch the whole thing from a close standing. Her dare was to wear a white wedding dress with a widow’s veil for the whole day. When you think about it, it couldn’t possible be that bad... right? How wrong can one person be? Knowing that the voice had pretty much jinxed her, April couldn’t believe it, when she had first walked out off the Ravenclaw dungeons, that she heard a wolf whistle and laughter and side comments as she passed a group of Ravenclaw guys.
Blushing like fire under her black veil, she quickened her pace and could hear laughter still following her. Her sight wasn’t perfect under the veil, yeah it might have imprinted dots, but it was a pain to see out of. Because of this, she nearly tripped over and walked into the wall she had her hand against, so she would know where she was, and not walk into anyone human.
Taking a quick left at a intersection in the corridor, April pinned her back up against it, breathing hard. She closed her eyes and prayed that they would run passed and not notice her. Hearing the footsteps get louder, her panic rose a little, before it dropped when she heard them take the right corridor.
Steadying her heart rate, April lifted the front of the veil and hung it back over her head, so she could see clearly. Noticing that the corridor was lit well, April knew that someone would have to come down it at some point soon. Because class was going to start soon.
"Reading between the lines, I’d say she thinks you’re a bit conceited, mate."
