The Revolution Has Begun
"There's no need to call me sir Professor."
FULL NAME: Hannah Rose Abbott NICKNAMES: Hannie AGE: Fifteen BIRTHDAY: April 10, 1980 SEXUALIY: Heterosexual BLOODLINE: Half-blood HOUSE: Hufflepuff YEAR: Fifth Year JOB: Student SIDE: Order of the Phoenix SPECIES/SPECIAL ABILITIES: n/a CANON: Yes
"You don't know what I'm capable of, you don't know what I've done!"
GENERAL APPEARANCE: Hannah has blond hair that reaches down to her shoulders, and she tends to keep it down, in a ponytail, or braided. She tends not to style her hair in any special styles. Her eyes are round and their color is hazel. Her skin is light, and it takes a lot of exposure in the sun for her skin to even turn a little darker. Her ears are pierced once, and she constantly wears earrings of different varieties. She rarely wears other pieces of jewelry. Her body is slightly slim, having lost her pudginess from her first year.
When it comes to hygiene, Hannah is conscious about it. That is to say, she isn't vain about her appearance, since she doesn't mind if dirt gets on herself. In the mornings, she washes herself for the new day. She keeps her fingernails and toenails short, and she likes to paint both sets of nails. Aside from the nail polish, she doesn't wear any other make-up. She would rather keep a natural look.
While in Hogwarts, Hannah abides by the school uniform, wearing the usual white shirt with a Hufflepuff tie, a black skirt, and black shoes. After dinner, and on the weekends, she likes to change into muggle clothing. While she doesn't mind dresses and heels, she usually wears skirts and flats. She would be perfectly fine in a just t-shirt and jeans. But, it mainly depends on what she feels like wearing at the time, as long as she is comfortable while wearing it. MOST LIKED FEATURE: Hannah likes almost her whole body. MOST HATED FEATURE: Hannah doesn't have too much of her body to complain about. However, she thinks her nose is a little big. HERITAGE: English ETHNICITY: Caucasian
"The mind is not a book, to be opened at will and examined at leisure."
GENERAL PERSONALITY: Hannah is kind and friendly. She is outgoing, and thus likes making new friends. She enjoys helping her friends and other people who need help. However, this means that she would help people who are not her friend as well. Being too loyal to her friends and trusting too much with people that she doesn't know, she tends to listen to what they tell her. Combined with her lack of self-confidence, she could become easily convinced by her friends and those around her. So, they would pressure her to do what they want.
Furthermore, Hannah's self-confidence exposes a more stressed side of herself. Her bubbly and friendly facade is just a cover up of her self-esteem and emotional problems. She yearns to fit in with her peers, and would thus do as her friends say in order to assure herself that she belongs with them. Standing up for herself is incredibly hard for her to do. She's fearful that without her friends, she would cease to exist since she wouldn't know what to do.
Even though she knows that she should stand up for herself, she just cannot bring herself to do so, since she is afraid of being alone. This creates anxiety and stress in her life, always trying to fit in. Her emotions are affected by this, sometimes having emotional breakdowns at night before she goes to sleep. She consistently yearns to find her meaning in life. Herbology is the best thing that she has in order to help her realize her own potential. However, she does not reveal this to her friends, keeping it a secret.
During her free time, Hannah likes to read books including on subjects like Herbology, Defense Against the Dark Arts, and Potions. Thus, she does not mind getting dirt on herself, making Herbology her best class. In addition, she likes to fly, and play Qudditch. However, her self-confidence does get in her way, so she has no ambition to try-out for her house's team. So, she settles to sit in the stands, and cheer on her house's team.
Hannah likes to watch thunderstorms, and she even sometimes goes into the Herbology greenhouses to watch the thunderstorms. She does not like snobs, pureblood supremacists, and people who harm others. Her worst classes are Transfiguration, History of Magic, and Astronomy. She looks down heavily on disloyalty, thus causing her relationship to anyone disloyal to be harmed. While her trust is relatively easy to gain, it is very hard for her to trust anyone disloyal to her. Test anxiety, nervousness, stress are things that she is unable to get past easily. "I enjoyed the meetings, too. It was like having friends."
GENERAL HISTORY: Thomas and Catherine Abbott had one daughter, thus making Hannah an only sibling. Hannah Abbott was born on April 10. Her mother was a halfblood and her father a halfblood, thus making her a half-blood. She was born right before the Death Eaters were captured. Even though they were captured, her parents still worried about Voldemort's return. So, her parents were protective of their only child, however that did not mean that they always watched what she was doing. When she was about 6, her parents left her outside when they went into the house for a moment. Suddenly, a snake had attacked her while she was playing. The snake bit her on her ankle, causing pain to seer through her. Instantly, she cried thinking that she was going to die, and her parents came running to her aid. Immediately after that point, she became fearful of snakes, afraid that one might bite her again. This caused her stress in her life, since she thought that she was going to die.
Hannah was never a spoiled brat, not really needing too much. When she learned to read, she immediately began reading books. Her father had taught her to fly and play Qudditch. It was an exhilarating experience for her to learn to fly. She especially enjoyed the wind through her hair as she flew. From that moment, it was one of the happiest moments of her life. Her father taught her the rules of Qudditch, and everything. At about the age of 7, she showed her first sign of magic by levitating a book. Hannah was accepted to Hogwarts on her eleventh birthday, and she was sorted into Hufflepuff.
Throughout her first year, Hannah was able to make friends with others in her own house. She tried to do well at her new school, learning about magic. She constantly found herself in the library, reading up on the various spells and potions that first years learned. After all, her parents didn't really perform too much magic at their house. It was all so new to her, so she tried to read up about it. Being as curious as she was, she liked to explore the castle during this year as well. In addition, she tried to help her friends, and other students in her year when possible. Also, she liked to fly on the Qudditch pitch, occasionally playing a game with her friends. Academically, she wasn't that bad of a student, as most of her grades were good. Sure, she thought that she was smart, but she wasn't as smart as someone like Hermione Granger. She had to practice the spells several times before fully understanding them. Outside of this, her spell work was pretty good. Pressures from her friends and the new school in general, caused her to become anxious and nervous during tests.
During her second year, Hannah continued to make friends, including some from other houses. Her friends pressured her into roaming the castle, especially trying to go into the forbidden sections of the school. She would always follow because she was both curious and easily influenced. From this, she did receive a few detentions. While she knew that it was bad to continue to do so, she would follow her friends into these situations. Even though this was the year that she could try out for her house's Qudditch team, her poor self-confidence had her resist trying to make the team.
In her third and fourth years, Hannah started to spend more of her time outside and in the greenhouses. She liked Herbology, and would sometimes enter the greenhouses to study and work on the plants. It comforted her to be around the plants, usually being able to release her anxiety. Now, about to start her fifth year, Hannah was going to try to assert herself more to her friends. She didn't like being persuaded easily, and she will try to make up her own mind on things. She would begin to study for her OWLs, hoping to pass them, before passing out from the stress. FAMILY: Thomas and Catherine Abbott
"Make way for the heir of Slytherin, seriously evil wizard coming through..."
ROLEPLAY SAMPLE: Already, it seemed that the day was turning out to be a good day. Outside, the sun was shining brilliantly. It was quiet outside, but it was not one of those quiets which precede a bad event. It was one of those peaceful quiets. That was, a quiet where one could just lay down, and relax. Many students hoped to be in that type of quiet when they were in the library. However, the quiet seemed to be at its best outside at the present time. Well, it appeared that way to Hannah Abbott as she peered out a window in the corridor.
Hannah had decided to wake up early that morning. She figured that it was a good idea to start her day off on the right foot. Well, that, and the sun was shining brilliantly in her eyes. If she was not trying to sleep, then she would have enjoyed the sun's rays in her eyes. However, she was indeed trying to sleep. So, she had taken an offense to the sun for waking her up. After her unfortunate waking, she decided to get up for the day, and trudged in to the shower.
Since Hannah was up so early in the morning, she knew that there would not be any of her friends up in the Great Hall yet. So, instead of venturing down to the Great Hall, she decided to walk around the castle. Yet, little did she know that a fight was taking place in the Great Hall. Of course, she would never pay attention to these trivial matters. So, even if she did hear anything in the Great Hall, she would have disregarded it as one of the younger years doing something stupid.
Therefore, that was how Hannah managed to get herself up on the fourth floor. She was sitting on the window sill, watching the sun rise in the sky a little bit. For a while now, she was sitting on the sill. She shook her head lightly; deciding now was as good as ever to head back downstairs. By the time she would make it back down, there was a good chance that her friends would be already down there. With a nod, she stood up, and started walking down the corridor.
After descending a staircase, Hannah thought she heard screams and the sounds of spells. She sighed to herself. Already it seemed that there was a fight in Hogwarts. Indeed, tensions had been rising after Dumbledore left. Pulling out her wand, she decided to see what was going on.
"Reading between the lines, I’d say she thinks you’re a bit conceited, mate."

Pending ! please insert corrections that need to be made good luck! To Improve:
- Her personality seems very one-sided - please give more details about more negative aspects and traits she may possess.
- The history section isn't correspondent to our lot - please reread our plot outline and change this section accordingly.
Admin Note: Hello there! You've got a really good start here and your writing style is excellent, so no worries there. We'd just like to see a bit more of her personality, perhaps a slightly darker side to her? She seems very bright and bubbly and while that is certainly a good thing, no one can be like that all the time, so try to add some contrast to her. Also, our plotline is AU, so the events that happened in the books have not all necessarily happened in our plot, so there was no Tri-wizard Tournament and Sirius Black wasn't arrested for murder or anything of that sort. If you could please rewrite some of her history to make it more personal to Hannah so it fits in with our AU plot, that would be awesome. I love your roleplay sample! Can't wait to see you on our site. =)

I added two paragraphs to her personality section about her underlying self-esteem problems, reliance on her friends, and on emotional breakdowns. The history has been fully changed.
