The Revolution Has Begun
"There's no need to call me sir Professor."
FULL NAME: Parson Neil Greyback NICKNAMES: Parsley, Pars, Greyback AGE: 16 BIRTHDAY: April 11th SEXUALIY: Heterosexual BLOODLINE: Mixed HOUSE: Slytherin YEAR: Sixth JOB: n/a SIDE: neutral SPECIES/SPECIAL ABILITIES: Werewolf CANON: on this site
"You don't know what I'm capable of, you don't know what I've done!"
GENERAL APPEARANCE: Parson has dark brown hair that has been known to be a bit on the unruly side. He blames it on the wolf within, deciding that it’s just one of those outward appearances that are a reminder that he’s more animal than man, at times. His eyes are brown and usually found to look kind, though they rarely appear to be open and warm, since he’s a rather guarded person. He has light skin and simple features, though he thinks he looks decent enough. He finds it very easy to school his expression, making it appear genuine no matter the situation, no matter the emotion. He thinks it’s probably from all the times Fenrir would visit and he’d have to be brave and look like everything was fine.
He isn’t very tall, standing at only 5’7, but he is still decently built. Most of the muscle on his body is from the physically taxing full moons, but in between those times he manages to keep himself in okay shape. His legs are probably the most muscular, which is more than likely because in wolf form he tends to jump, or perhaps climb, a lot. At least that’s what Parson gathered from the two incidents where he woke up in a tree. Because of the many full moons he’s been through during his life, for pretty much as long as he can remember, Parson’s body is covered in various scars. Some are big and obvious, others small and subtle, but they’re there. The bite mark from where Fenrir bit him as a baby can be found high up on the left side of his back. It’s a pretty vicious sight.
Parson doesn’t really think he has much of a style, or at least he doesn’t think it’s anything special. He just likes to be comfortable, and so he tends to wear loose fitting clothing, and jeans. He isn’t a very big fan of his uniform, which always feels restrictive. He likes wearing sandals and other types of clothing that are easy to discard or put on, especially around full moons. He also isn’t a very big fan of clothes that make him stand out, so you won’t find anything bright in his wardrobe. MOST LIKED FEATURE: He likes his legs, because they’re strong. MOST HATED FEATURE: His hair and his scars HERITAGE: English ETHNICITY: Caucasian
"The mind is not a book, to be opened at will and examined at leisure."
GENERAL PERSONALITY: Parson isn't a very loud, in your face person. He prefers to keep up appearances in the background, not drawing too much attention to himself. He just keeps to himself, and to his friends. He isn't likely to go up to you and introduce himself, only if he is extremely intrigued by something about you will he do that. If Parson is indeed intrigued by you, he's suddenly not be so in the shadows. He'll draw more attention to himself just because he wants you to notice. He goes after what he wants, even if that means stretching his legs and getting in a few people's faces.
For the most part Parson is a nice guy. He feels like it's a waste of time to be negative if there's no reason. There's been plenty of crap in his life that was negative, so why in the world would he want to add more to it? Exactly, he wouldn't. However, if you get up in his family's face, even though he isn't always fond of all of them, he will get in yours and it won't be pretty.
Parson doesn't need to be around people to be happy, he doesn't crave attention. He's perfectly fine sitting in the back of the room and working alone during class. He's actually found it to be a lot easier that way. He'd rather simply rely on himself instead of another, and likewise. When he's alone like this he finds it a lot easier to think, and think about tons of things. His mind is busy.
Once Parson's mind settles on him doing something, the decision is made and he's going to do it. He doesn't waste time over-thinking what he should do, he just does what feels right and moves on. And if this decision leads to some sort of a commitment, or starting something, he won't back out and he won't just stop. Parson finishes what he starts and he doesn't do the abandoning thing. It isn't his style. This characteristic is another one of the reasons that Parson feels like he can't pull away from his family, from their little "pack". The idea of commitment to Parson is very serious, and he doesn't like to play the part of the hypocrite with his beliefs.
Because Parson is so strong minded, he finds it to be something of an ease to get people to agree with him, or at least listen to him. He is very persuasive: he knows just what to say to get you liking what's happening, or agreeing whole-heartily. His habit of playing the role of an actor has a lot to do with all of this as well. He's so convincing that pretending to be something he's not comes quite simple to him. It's almost second nature, like putting on a glove. And no one ever expects that he isn't being genuine because he happens to be a pretty nice guy on your average day.
This need to play a role, to change himself so easily, is really a sort of defense mechanism. He doesn't like people to get too close and see whole he really is. After growing up without a mother, that lack of nurturing that he needed soon turned into a sort of lack of confidence. By taking on these roles in front of people he isn't comfortable with, he gets to hide, almost. It's like a hard shell, it helps make the negativity he gets shelled out to him be more than muted. Sure, Parson enjoys taking on a different personality, but that doesn't mean it's all that healthy. If he were to find some outlet for the acting, he'd probably be able to further grow into the person he could be. But that sadly isn't very possible, because being a Greyback puts limits on you, even if you try your best to rebel against them.
Some of Parson’s strengths are as follows.
Kind: Parson really is a nice guy, he doesn't like to be mean for no good reason. If someone is going to treat him with kindness then he is going to pay him that same respect. He just doesn't get why people find the need to be jerks for no reason. Life is easier when you don't step on everyone's toes.
Acting: Some would call it lying, but Parson doesn't like that word. He enjoys the art of slipping into a personality that isn't his own. Though he doesn't make a habit of doing so, he has used it in times of need. He can play the sweet boy that did no harm like no other. This trait can get him out of detention like that, but only if used on the right person.
Making decisions: Parson doesn't have a problem with this at all. What's the point in wasting time thinking about your decision when nine times out of ten you already know what you really want to pick? Parson just makes the decision and doesn't look back. He doesn't get flustered over it because he finds it to be pointless.
Persuasive: When Parson knows what he wants, he goes after it, and he doesn't like having to deal with snags in the road. Like, for instance, someone telling him not to do what he wants. By the end of the conversation people often times feel like they've been confunded because Parson just gets them to see his way even if it doesn't make sense. I guess it all comes down to him being rather confident and having a way with words.
His thick skin: After having a life like Parson has, he's grown some pretty thick skin. He isn't fazed by petty remarks and jabs, it just doesn't bother him. It takes a lot to wear Parson down, to shake him. You have to know him very, very well in order to do so, and even then you have to say the exact right thing at the right time.
Then there are his weaknesses...
His quick temper: While Parson isn't easily affected by the remarks of others about himself, he is if it's about a family member (well, besides his father). If you say one wrong word against any of his siblings, you are going down. He won't stand for it. 100% of the fights he's ever been in have stemmed from a remark about his family.
His fear of his father: Parson hates his father, he hates everything he stands for, everything he's done, and everything he's made Parson to be. He hates the man so much that he likes to tell people he doesn't have a father, he's too ashamed to even be put in the same sentence with the monster. At the same time, though, Parson is incredibly fearful of him. He knows what Fenrir can do, what he's done, and knows that he could never stand a chance against the much older man. This fear holds him back from actually standing up and saying that he doesn't agree with anything that Fenrir's "family" may stand for, even if he desperately wants to. He feels like if he does, he's a goner. He's only ever able to make small moves in that directions, never actually doing anything that is considered a big deal.
Girls: More importantly, girls that aren't afraid of him. If a girl is nice, and she isn't afraid to be with the scary werewolf dude, he has major respect for her. It's a very attractive quality that also happens to turn him on. He likes a girl who isn't afraid of a little danger.
He isn't a quitter: While this may sound like something positive, it really isn't always. Parson can get obsessive with accomplishing what he set out to do. This can have disastrous consequences. He may know that what he's doing to succeed in what he started isn't very smart, but if he sees no other way besides quitting, he's going to do it. Usually this trait makes him appear to be very, very reckless.
HOBBIES: sleeping, listening to music, swimming, camping, acting (not that you’ll ever see him on a stage) DISLIKES: being a werewolf, getting up early, detention, not having a mother, going to class, missing class, getting sick, vegetables, his last name, his father, when people judge him without knowing him, long lines, the ranking system in his family, hot weather, when people count on him, stupid people, boring people, applesauce, the war LIKES: being a werewolf, sleeping, running, swimming, his siblings (when they aren't being idiots), cursing, red meat, loud music, quiet moments, surprising people, cherries, awkward moments, smart conversation, thinking, being alone, being around a million people, getting lost, being different, ice cream, hanging around muggle towns, pretending he doesn't have a "father", nature, camping. FEARS: - Denny getting hurt, which seems increasingly possible everyday. - Having a run in with his father. - Life after Hogwarts, knowing that his father has some sort of purpose for him just waiting. SECRETS: - The only one of his family that he trusts is Denny. - Everyday he considers running away. The only thing that keeps him around is Denny. Once school is over he isn’t sure what he’s going to do.
"I enjoyed the meetings, too. It was like having friends."
GENERAL HISTORY: Francine Mulberry was a happy woman of about thirty-two when Fenrir found her. She had two young daughters, twins, and a boyfriend that lived with them. She was fairly normal, nothing special. And then Fenrir Greyback decided to move in for the kill. Only it wasn't the kill just yet. He raped her, violently, leaving her pregnant and feeling violated. Fenrir was gone for a year and a half, leaving her to a life where she never felt safe. That was for a good reason, because when he did finally come back out of hopeful curiosity, he was awarded for his hard work. He saw that he had indeed fathered a child, and decided that it was in his best interest to add the baby to his "family".
Poor Francine didn't see it coming. She left with Parson on a clear Sunday morning, taking him on a stroll in his buggy. Fenrir attacked her before she even heard him coming, and she was dead. The death was quick, but not because Fenrir cared at all, simply because the less time he wasted there, the better. Fenrir took Parson without much care, and brought him to the hell hole of a home that's he'd made for his children. They were all young, and Fenrir never stayed very long, never nurtured them like one would expect a father to do. He'd leave food around, bare essentials, and then leave for long amounts of time. He clearly didn't care much for any of them, they were just there in case he needed a bunch of people to use. People that would feel obligated for some ridiculous reason, to help him out.
Parson could never begin to understand why they felt that blind sense of loyalty towards Fenrir, he was their father only in blood. Every memory that Parson had of him was terrible. He didn’t remember much about being turned, not when he had been so young. All he remembered was a sharp flash of pain and fear, and maybe that was just made up, a beginning memory to foster his fear and hatred for the man who had created him, destroyed him, tortured him. From a young age Parson had learned how to fear, and how to hate, and it was all directed towards one man who barely ever made an appearance.
The years went on, every month plagued with pain, sweat, blood, and tears. It was a terrible way to grow up, nearly alone in it. Sure, there were the other kids, the other misfit children of Fenrir Greyback, but in an essence they were all alone. They were a pack that never asked to be one, and it was clear. As they got older and older, the strain and pressure of it all only grew. Parson hated his life there, hated every full moon, and the time in between. Sure, he grew to love all of his half siblings, it was hard not to when you had something that ran so deep to connect over, but that didn’t mean it was always easy to live with all of them.
He made his greatest connection with Denali, who arrived a little almost two years after he did. They were the youngest additions to the pack, and they were constantly lumped together because of that. They bonded together, feeling closer to each other than they felt to any of the other kids. Parson found himself a true sister in Denny, the one person he was sure he could count on, the one person who he felt equal with. He loved the rest of his family, but there was no one that could compare.
It was because of this deep bond that Parson had trouble letting go and going off to Hogwarts. It was something that had to be done, there was no way around that, but Parson didn’t want to go anywhere without Denny. Sure, he knew that there was no way she could come, but he didn’t care. He didn’t like the idea of leaving her behind, unprotected. Who would look after her if Fenrir stopped by for a visit? What if he came on a full moon? He didn’t like the idea of Fenrir changing around her, knowing that she would be much smaller, weaker, and that Fenrir liked to show who was in power. He didn’t want to leave her alone, but there was no way around it.
The train ride was miserable, being away from his only home for the first time, knowing that he was leaving Denny alone with only their much older sister. But when they finally got to school, Parson couldn’t help being excited. He was finally away from that place, in a world where it wasn’t all about the pack, hierarchy, and visits from Fenrir. It was finally his time for simply himself. Despite every worry he felt for his sister, for the first time, Parson felt safe.
Hogwarts became a place of refuge for Parson. When he got to go, for once a whole new world was opened up to him. There was positivity in the air, reasons to be happy. Even if, once a month, he still had to make those terrible transformations with his siblings, his life had gotten incredibly better. All of the Greybacks found a home in Slytherin, and Parson was thankful that they were together, especially when it was rather hard to make friends. Parson very much wanted some, but being a Greyback that didn’t always come so easy. Of course he had a few, and for those few he was very thankful.
Being at Hogwarts was the best situation he could hope for himself. He felt safe, knowing that he didn't have to wait around at "home" all day, wondering if father dearest would arrive, ready to brag about how weak his mother had been and how he'd never meet his supposed half sisters. It was always painful, even if he didn't let it show. His father was one of the only people that despite the growing armor he'd gained, could still hurt him. He knew exactly what to say, and he liked the reaction he'd get, too.
Summers are a thing to dread, being stuck around, waiting for his father to show up for another round of crap. Sometimes he'd never see him, other times he'd be there too much for his own taste. It was the wondering in between that always kept him nervous. This is one big reason that Parson just wants to get away from his family, to break off completely. It would be easier, and he'd get to live the life he wants, completely. But it appears that Fenrir has something planned, and seventh year is too far away to make a quick get away. Parson feels trapped. He tries his best to concentrate on his schooling, especially with his OWL’s coming up, but it’s easy to get distracted when it feels like Fenrir is always breathing down his neck, simply waiting. The war is raging, and Parson is terrified that things are only going to get worse. FAMILY: Francine Mulberry - mother- deceased Twin sisters - Parson is skeptical that they even ever existed. Fenrir Greyback - father Sienna Greyback - half sister Damon Greyback - half brother Jaxsen Greyback - half brother Hampton Greyback - half brother Quentin Greyback - half brother Denali Greybacki - half brother
